Honeywell Group has announced the appointment of Mr Alan Palmer as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Foods Business.
In a press release to convey the appointment, Honeywell Group explained that “in his new role, Alan Palmer will champion the delivery of Honeywell Group’s broad strategy for its foods businesses, with specific emphasis on managing the transformation of the Honeywell Foods Business into a leading, world-class, pan-African foods FMCG company.”
According to the press release, Alan Palmer has close to 40 years of experience in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) space; and brings on board a robust blend of knowledge of local, regional and international FMCG industry with a sound appreciation and application of leading practices across key value chain areas.
Prior to his appointment, Palmer had worked with global organisations, including: Kraft Foods Incorporated, Cadbury Plc and Trebor Bassett Limited amongst others. He was the immediate past Managing Director and CEO of Kraft West Africa and Cadbury Nigeria Plc and the Managing Director, South-East Asia for Cadbury Schweppes Plc. Palmer has also held several strategic roles including board positions, locally and internationally.
Speaking on the reason for bringing Palmer on board, the Head, Special Projects and Corporate Communications of Honeywell Group, Mrs Ebunoluwa Bolodeoku, noted that “in line with our overall growth aspirations and efforts at achieving better co-ordination for Honeywell Foods Business, Alan Palmer is expected to work towards enabling increased value creation, optimal synergy and better performance across the Group’s foods businesses.”
Among other strategic intents, Honeywell Foods Business is committed to providing healthy, nutritious and affordable food products to feed Nigeria’s growing population using local inputs, and by so doing create employment and develop Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
