The Honeywell Group today is the culmination of almost half a century of visionary leadership, hard work and dedication aligned in the purpose driven cause to make our world better through enterprise.
The Honeywell Group was founded in
1972
Founded in 1972, Honeywell Group began as a food trading company servicing the West African region before pivoting to importing a variety of goods including dairy products, stock fish, glass, and steel rods for the domestic Nigerian market.
We have evolved to become an investment company, proud to be participating in major sectors of the Nigerian economy including foods, financial services, telecommunications, real estate, leisure and hospitality, energy, infrastructure, and security management.
Our journey so far
1972
Let’s Trade
Honeywell Enterprises is launched to formalize the West African trading activities of the Group founder. Interests include baking yeast, milk, stockfish, glass and steel rods from Holland, Norway, Czechoslovakia and Brazil.
1980
Diversification Drive
Various companies are set up including, Poly Ventures Limited; a company making polypropylene sacks and bags and Coral Products, which produced crockery. The Group also expands its trading operations by exporting cocoa.
1985
Opening New Gateways
In partnership with the Ogun State government, Gateway Honeywell Flour Mills is established.
1988
Building Blocks
Multiple subsidiaries, including Honeywell Fisheries Limited, Honeywell Construction Limited (later renamed Skyview Estates Limited) and Pivot Engineering Company, a full-service Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) company, are launched.
1991
Taking on Security
Pavilion Technology, a technological and electronically-based security solutions company, is formed.
1993
On the Move
The Head Office relocates from Molete, Ibadan to Victoria Island, Lagos
1995
Finding our Milling Identity
Flour milling company changes name to Honeywell Flour Mills Limited
1995
Fueling Business Growth
Honeywell Oil & Gas Limited (now HOGL Energy) is established to harness business opportunities in the downstream oil sector.
1997
Filling Up the Tank
HOGL consolidates downstream presence by building 23,000 metric tonne tank farm in Apapa, Lagos
1998
Increasing Milling Capacity
Honeywell Flour Mills commences full operations with a 200MT/day milling plant in Apapa, Lagos
1999
Oil & Gas Solutions Provider
Broadview Engineering is founded to provide engineering design and construction solutions within the oil and gas and power industries.
2001
Leading the Telecoms Revolution
Part of bidding consortium that wins bid to launch Econet Wireless (now Airtel), the first GSM operator to go live in Nigeria. Our Founder, Oba Otudeko is appointed Chairman of the Board
2003
Connecting the Nation
Pivot Engineering Limited completes Project OAY (Owerri – Ahoada – Yenagoa), connecting Bayelsa State to the National Grid for the first time ever.
2004
Forging Strategic Partnerships
Pivot GIS is launched as a joint venture between Pivot Engineering Company Limited (PECL) and GIS Inc an onshore construction, offshore maintenance and brownfield activities company based in the Gulf of Mexico region in the USA..

Promoting Wireless Telephony
Telecgsm Limited launches as a distributor of major mobile phone brands
2007
Taking the Lead in Cell Phone Distribution
Telecgsm becomes the largest distributor of mobile phones in West Africa
2008
Building Blocks
Uraga Real Estate, a company with expertise in the residential, commercial and hospitality sector, is launched to consolidate the real estate activities of the Group.
2009
Going Public
Honeywell Flour Mills becomes first Honeywell Group company to be listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange
2009
Bringing it Home
PECL acquires the equity shares of GIS Inc. in PGIS, thus making Pivot GIS a 100% Nigerian indigenous EPCM contractor in the oil and gas services industry.
2010
The Transnational Loop
Broadview Engineering supplies the line pipes for the Trans-Niger Pipeline Loop Project (TNP) loop-line to transport around 180,000 barrels per day (BPD) of crude oil from Nigeria to Algeria.
2011
Five Star Hospitality
Radisson Blu Anchorage, a 170-room 5 Star Hotel on Victoria Island, Lagos is established with Rezidor International, owners of the Radisson Brand, as operator. it is the first Radisson Hotel in West Africa.
2013
Making the Call to Exit
The Group divests from telecoms investment through sale of holdings in Airtel Nigeria to Bharti Airtel
2014
A Major Pivot for Growth
Pivot GIS commences operations and maintenance of Nigeria’s Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) plant on Bonny Island; the largest maintenance contract handled by an indigenous company in Nigeria.

The Italian Connection
Launch of Rossetti Pivot, a Joint venture with Rosetti Marino Spa of Italy for design, fabrication, manufacture and supply of platforms and systems for the oil & gas industry
2016
Facilitating Services in Oil & Gas
Broadview Engineering acquires controlling stake in Shoreline Logistics Nigeria Limited, a company providing facility leasing services, marine & air logistics support services and port operation services to the oil and gas sector.

Launching with over 37MW capacity through the hiving off of the Group’s power assets, Uraga Power Solutions is set up to provide high-quality energy solutions to industrial, commercial and residential users.

Uraga Real Estate launches West Africa’s first trampoline park in Lagos - Upbeat Recreation Centre.
